Symptoms and Support During Emotional and Energetic Detox:

Since you have been hanging out on this blog for a while know, you are likely exploring some holistic healing tools, and are making some positive steps forward! Congratulations! You are on an amazing path! But, before you transition from dangling your toes, to cannon balling into a regular self care and holistic self healing routine, let’s briefly chat about Emotional and Energetic Detox!

What is it?

When a person receives energy work (from either a self-healing session or from a Practitioner session), especially intense energy work, such as the release of energetic blockages, their body goes through a lot of change, in a short period of time. This affects the whole person, including their mind, body, spirit, emotions, energy level, and even their vibrational frequency.

There is usually a period of time, after energy work, where the person needs to adjust to the changes that just took place, and they can even experience detox systems that can be energetic, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual in nature. I would like to stress that IF someone experiences these symptoms of energetic/emotional detox, they are NORMAL, and they are temporary.

Many people who try energy healing (specifically energetic release) for the first time, and are not aware of the type of energetic/emotional detox that can take place after, often feel worse from their energy healing sessions for a few days, up to a few weeks, and this can be scary.

This is something that we want to avoid, so it is important that we prepare people and that the public is educated on this topic, including educating on what may happen, what to expect, and how they can support themselves energetically and emotional, throughout their detox phase. 

If you or someone you know experiences adverse reactions to essential oils during a detox phase, that’s perfectly fine! Perhaps look deeper into healing crystal suggestions, an oracle deck that can offer you emotional support, or herbal teas instead!

How long does a detox phase last?

Throughout your self-healing and detox phase, it is important to relax, and understand that what you are feeling, (which may be a bit uncomfortable), is only due to energetic exchanges, changes and vibrational shifts that have occurred within your energetic and physical bodies, the body trying to settle back into balance, as well as the possible continued release of native energy (which could continue over a duration of a few hours or even over a number of days). The bottom line is that it’s nothing to worry about. It’s just energy, and the discomfort will pass! 

During this time it is healthy for you to honor your feelings and emotions (this is part of the healing and detox process), but it is also healthy for you to support yourselves with additional holistic tools, such as the ones I have listed below, to help ease some of their discomfort that may come along with your energetic changes, personal and spiritual shifts, as well as the emotional detox symptoms that you may experience.
